Town Centre Governance

Councillor James Cole from Hungerford Town Council chairs the Hungerford steering group for the Hungerford Town Centre Strategy. The strategy is based on extensive public consultation and stakeholder involvement. The overall objective of the strategy is to ensure the long-term vitality of our town centre for residents and businesses.

The purpose of the steering group is for representatives of businesses, the town council and other stakeholders to come together to help guide the programme, collaborate on projects wherever possible and consider funding opportunities.

Councillor Martin Colston the Portfolio holder for Regeneration, Growth & Strategy Development at West Berkshire Council also attends the steering group meeting.
