Smarten Up Hungerford (originally initiated by John Willmott) are a volunteer group and our aim is to Smarten Up Hungerford. We currently plant and maintain 14 oak barrels in the High Street, 6 planters on the canal bridge, 4 barrels at the railway station plus further oak barrels leading into Hungerford from both the east and west.

We change the plants twice a year allowing for spring/summer bedding plants and also autumn/winter planting including a selection of bulbs.

We also undertake a number of litter picks during the year and as an organisation we like to think we can be of help and have been called upon by HTC to tidy up certain areas in and around the town.

Hungerford recently won a Silver in the small town category in Britain in Bloom and this was the town’s first attempt. We have also been successful and won awards in Hungerford in Bloom.
